Downstairs Function Options

Smaller occasions are well suited to our downstairs offering, where guests benefit from a warmer, more personal setting than the main restaurant floor. The private function room comfortably hosts up to 22 guests and includes direct access to a sun-filled patio, making it a popular choice for close-knit dinners and celebrations. Bookings of a larger scale can take over the full downstairs area, with capacity for 110 indoors and a further 30 outdoors.

Three menu styles cover a range of event formats. The Il Gambero Special ($ 30 pp) offers banquet-style pizzas and shared pasta. Seated set menus run from $50 (2 courses) to $65 (3 courses). The Canapé Menu suits standing receptions, with grazing platters and warm bites such as Arancini and Lamb Kofta. Vegetarian and gluten-free choices feature across every menu.

Common questions about our function rooms.

  • A $500 cash deposit is required to confirm a private function booking at Il Gambero. The deposit secures your chosen date and space, with the remaining balance settled around the time of the event. Should the event be cancelled within two weeks of the scheduled date, the deposit is forfeited as outlined in our function terms and conditions. 

  • Yes. For exclusive use of the upstairs function room, a minimum spend of $3,500 applies on Saturday evenings, $3,000 on Friday evenings, and $2,000 on Sundays (Sundays also incur a 10% surcharge). The minimum spend is made up of combined food and beverage costs, and our team is happy to provide a tailored quote based on your group size and event style. 

  • Yes. Celebration cakes are welcome at a cakeage charge of $2 per guest, with our chefs and staff cutting and serving the cake on your behalf. Any other BYO food or desserts may be considered; they are permitted only by prior arrangement with management, and an additional charge will apply. 

  • Functions run through to 12 midnight, with last drinks called at 11:45 pm. Should you wish to extend beyond midnight, this must be arranged with management in advance, and an additional fee will apply. Please note that a strict no-BYO policy applies to all private functions, and beverages are served exclusively from our fully stocked bar.  

  • Final guest numbers must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to the event. This figure serves as the catering number for the function and is reflected on the final bill, so we recommend confirming attendance with all guests well in advance of the cut-off.

  • Yes, clients are welcome to bring their own decorations to personalise the space. Please note that confetti-style decorations are strictly prohibited, and all decorations must be cleaned up and removed by the client at the conclusion of the event. Music volume is also expected to remain at a reasonable level to avoid disturbing neighbouring buildings.
